Dr. Martin Luther King said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in the moment of comfort and convenience, but where he stands in time of challenges and controversy.”

3 reasons young people lack Godly character:

  1. They have never been taught character.
  2. They are becoming comfortable with sin in their life.
  3. They don’t think they have what it takes.
q God expects us to have character that represents him

  • Psalms 7:8 “Judge me, o Lord, according to my righteousness and according to my integrity within me.”
3 things you should know about Championship Character

  1. Character is more than talk, it is also our actions
  2. Character is a visible demonstration of our values and beliefs.
  3. Character determines whether you get respect or disrespect.
q 2 Peter 1:5 “For this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith, virtue, to virtue, knowledge.”

  • Vrs 6: “to knowledge self-control, to self control perseverance, to perseverance Godliness.”
  • Vrs 7: “to Godliness brotherly kindness, love.”
  • Vrs 8: “For if these things be in you, you will be neither useless nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our lord Jesus Christ.”
7 Ingredients to Championship character:

  1. Develop a true relationship with Christ
    1. Romans 1:9 “Confess with your mouth believe in your heart.”
  1. Holiness is your standard of living
    1. 1 Peter 1:15 “Be holy in all your ways.
  1. Develop regular prayer and study habits.
    1. 2 Tim 2:15 “Study to show yourself approve.”
  1. Walk in love. “Love never fails”
  1. Honest and Integrity.
  1. Live a life of Worship.
  1. Commit to making good choices.
